Public Lecture - Race, Immigration and Ethnic Exclusion

Presented in conjunction with the Department of Sociology, Humboldt State University, Arcata-CA

In conjunction with the Department of Sociology Graduate Seminar on Race and Gender, I gave a formal lecture on the intellectual history of the concepts of race, assimilation, and stigma as they have been developed and applied within U.S. sociology. The lecture draws on my own empirical research examining racialized incorporation and stigma as well as current research in the US and Europe.
